Inspiration: Leo Villareal

His work never ceases to amaze me.

Also check this out:The Solar Matrix (a lighting installation he did in the hills of El Paso, Texas).

The typeface I will be using.

Installation: The Big Dipper

This was installed in Williamsburg on N. 4th St. There is no metal armature on this installation. It is approximately 7 ft. long.

CONSTELLATION: The Big Dipper

LOCATION: N. 4th st. between Berry and Bedford, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The Arrow (3 days later..)

Installation: Arrow

This sculpture was installed in Williamsburg on N. 7th and Berry. For the Arrow constellation I used a metal armature so that it would be easy to install on the wire fence.

Little Dipper Shoot: *Behind the Scenes*

Big thanks to Irina & Alison for their help during the wee hours of night.

Bored at School

This doodle that I did one night at school led me to the title of my project. What a lovely accident.

Installation: Cassiopeia (the next day)

Here is Cassiopeia, at Grand St. Park, the morning after the installation.

Installation: Cassiopeia

CONSTELLATION: Cassiopeia

LOCATION: Grand St. Park, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Installation: The Little Dipper

approximately 10 ft. long
approximately 40 ft. long
approximately 60 ft. long
For this shoot I went large scale, leaving out the metal armature (above I have listed the approximate sizes of the various Little Dippers).

CONSTELLATION: The Little Dipper

LOCATION: McGolrick Park, Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Close up: LEDs

The lights
These are the battery operated LED tea lights wrapped up in black electrical tape.

Installation: The Little Dipper

For this installation I decided to go without the armature so I could play with scale.

LOCATION: McGolrick Park, Greenpoint
CONSTELLATION: The Little Dipper

Installation: The Big Dipper

For this I decided not to use the brass tubing because I wanted to be able to play around with scale and test the lights to see how they look out on the street.

This was the first shoot I did and from this I learned that I needed to work on a larger scale so that the lights would not blend together.

LOCATION: N. 11th and Roebling, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
CONSTELLATION: The Big Dipper

Inspiration: SPY, Madrid, Spain

Why? SpY's interventions do not jump out at you, they wait until you come across them. They are not a monologue, but rather the result of a dialogue between the artist and the surroundings, between the passer by and the piece.
